Comment | Synonymy: Boulenger 1893: 30 listed Ophthalmidion fuscum in the synonymy of Typhlops platycephalus Dumeril and Bibron, 1844 (a Caribbean species!).
Status unclear, but “a valid species in the ruficaudus group” (V. Wallach, pers. comm.) [A. Wynn also studying this taxon, and both examined the type]. Not listed by De Rooij 1917. |
Etymology | Named after Latin “fuscus”, meaning dark or dusky. |
