Type locality: coastal Persian Gulf, Assaloye City, Bushehr Province, Southern Iran (27° 18′ N, 52° 42′ E, elevation 50-221 m).

tangestanensis: S Iran (southern Zagros Mountains, Bushehr Province). Type locality: southern Zagros Mountains, Khaiiz, Tangestan City, Bushehr Province, Southern Iran (28° 43′ N, 51° 31′ E, elevation 525 m.

DiagnosisDiagnosis: Small Asaccus; forelimb fingersparallel joint to palm; dorsal body covered allover by tubercles; small dorsal tubercles keeled and trihedral type a and b; dorsolateral tubercles keeled, pointed or simple, much smaller than the middle; tubercles on the middle of theneck keeled, laterals pointed; occipital tuber-cles pointed or simple; upper head tubercles very small and simple; simple tubercles extend between interorbit and upper eyelash; several coarse tubercles (sharp or simple) in front of the eyes; simple tubercles cover the arm and fore-arm, tubercles not extend into palm and digits; thigh covered with keeled tubercles, laterals covered with simple or pointed tubercles, smaller than the middle; foreleg tubercles extend into palm and upper part of the 1st and 2nd digits (Additional characters are shown in Table 1 in TORKI et al. 2011).

CommentDistribution: See map in SMID et al. 2014 for distribution in Iran.

Abundance: only known from its original description (Meiri et al. 2017).

Synonymy: Kamali et al. 2024 synonymized Asaccus tangestanensis with A. iranicus. Nazarov et al. 2024 confirmed that they are closely related (although they treated them as separate species).
