Type locality: Caracas, Venezuela

TypesType: BMNH 1946.1.6.47 (and possibly additional specimens). 
Diagnosis 
CommentHolotype might not be an Atractus but rather belong to Geophis fide SAVAGE 1960. Listed as “incertae sedis” by PETERS & OREJAS-MIRANDA 1970: 327. 
EtymologyNamed after Latin vittatus, wearing or carrying a ritual vitta. [“...Dark brown above, with four black longitudinal lines...”]. (from Esteban Lavilla, pers. comm., May 2024)
