EtymologyNamed after Louis Hyacinthe Boivin (1808-1852), a botanist and traveler who collected in Madagascar, the Comoro Islands, Reunion, the Canary Islands, and the coasts of Africa for the Museum National d'Histoire Naturelle, Paris.
