Type locality: unknown fide TAYLOR 1950.  
Reproductionoviparous 
TypesHolotype: RMNH, a 1472 mm specimen (Forsten). Another type is claimed by NMSL (Kandamby 1997). 
Diagnosis 
CommentVenomous!

Distribution: records from Sikkim represent Boiga siamensis (= B. ocellata). Darjeeling records of B. forsteni may turn out to be B. siamensis too and records from Assam turned out to be B. gokool. Possibly in Bhutan (Lenz 2012).

Synonymy partly after MOHAPATRA et al. 2010.

Habitat: fully arboreal (Harrington et al. 2018). 
EtymologyNamed in honour of Mr. Forsten.
