TypesNeotype: PEM R5990, designated by Tilbury 2010; original type presumed lost (FITZSIMONS 1935/36: 270 & 1943: 168).

EtymologyNamed after L. guttur (gutturis > guttur) = throat; -alis/is/e adjectival suffix: throated, referring to the gular lobes (Charles Klaver, pers. comm., 11 Jan 2023).
