Type locality: Hochfläche von Brastag, am Sibayak, Nordost-Sumatra (elevation 1400 m).  
TypesHolotype: ZSM 3/1928, destroyed fide Glaw, cited in Hallermann 2005.
Neotype. ZMB 55931 near Berastagi 3°11’ N, 98° 31’ E, “Fuss des Sibayak” about 1450 m a.s.l., Sumatera Utara, leg. Ulrich Manthey, April 1996, adult male (designated by Hallermann 2005).
