Comment 
EtymologyNamed after L.: ex-, prefix meaning without or lacking; armare (from arma, weapon), to furnish with weapons or to arm; -atus/a/um, perfect participle ending: unarmed, denoting the absence of any spinose scalation in this species as conmpared with the extraordinairy spinose and sympatric B. perarmata (Charles Klaver, pers. comm., 11 Jan 2023).
