Comment | Type species: Perinetia coulangesi DOMERGUE 1988: 135 is the type species of the genus Brygophis DOMERGUE & BOUR 1988. The name Perinetia is pre-occupied by Perinetia Collenette 1936 (Lepidoptera), Perinetia Seyrig 1952 (Hymenoptera), Perinetia Lallemand & Synave 1954 (Homoptera) and others. Habitat: fully arboreal (Harrington et al. 2018). |
Etymology | Named after Dr. Pierre Coulanges, a French epidemiologist who joined Institut Pasteur de Madagascar (1973) and was Director during a period when plague reappeared in Madagascar. |
