Type locality: Upper Houailou River, New Caledonia.  
Reproductionoviparous (not imputed, fide Zimin et al. 2022) 
TypesHolotype: BMNH 1946.8.16.15 (formerly 1926.9.17.1), adult female, collected by P.D. Montague, presented MCZ 
DiagnosisDiagnosis (genus). Maximum SVL 68 mm with a moderately elongate body, well developed limbs and digits, and relatively long tail (maximum tail length c. 200% of SVL). 
CommentUncommon and restricted to a few localities.

Type species: Lygosoma (Leiolopisma) novae-caledoniae PARKER 1926 is the type species of the genus Caesoris SADLIER et al. 2015. 
EtymologyNamed after it’s occurrence on New Caledonia.
