DiagnosisDescription: Une petite espèce de scinque, de surface, alerte, présentant une longueur de corps de 45mm, avec les membres bien développés et les écailles du corps garnies de 3 crêtes ou carènes distinctes. La coloration n'est connue que d'un seul adulte mâle qui est d'un brun foncé, avec une couleur faciale noire et de nombreux points pâles à bordure sombres sur tout le corps, formant une série de barres transversales irrégulières (*pour plus de détails voir : Sadlier et al., 1999; from 
CommentAbundance: only known from the type specimen (Meiri et al. 2017). 
EtymologyNamed after the Greek “cryptos”, for hidden or concealed, alluding to the recognition of this species through genetic analyses only (i.e. different patterns in protein electrophoresis).
