CommentTerra typica: “Afghanistan” (fide WERMUTH 1967; in error).

Distribution: possibly in Bhutan (Lenz 2012).

Climate zones: C. e. alticristatus is found in an equatorial winter dry climate, whereas C. e. emma inhabits areas with an equatorial monsoonal climate (Saijuntha et al. 2020). 
EtymologyNamed after Maria Emma Gray (1787–1876), British conchologist and algologist, and wife of John Edward Gray (1800-1875), British zoologist.
