CommentHas been described originally as Tropidoboa de Bibron by HOMBRON & JACQUINOT (1839). Not on mainland of New Caledonia fide BAUER & VINDUM 1990. 
EtymologyEtymology: Named after Gabriel Bibron (1806-1848), French zoologist.
