TYPE LOCALITY: Ugi Island, Solomon Islands

mcdowelli: E Papua New Guinea; Type locality: Sogeri, Papua New Guinea (Smith et al., 2001).

rosadoi: Papua New Guinea (Misima Island); Type locality: Bwagaoia village, Misima Island (Smith et al., 2001).

sadlieri: Papua New Guinea (Woodlark Island), Type locality: Guasopa, Woodlark Island.

tasmai: Indonesia (Halmahera, Sulawesi); Type locality: Kampung Loloba, Halmahera

vindumi: Solomon Islands (Bougainville Island); Type locality: Kunua, Bougainville Island.

Diagnosis 
CommentSubspecies: SMITH et al. (2001) elevated C. c. paulsoni to full species status and stated the existence of 2 subspecies of C. carinata (carinata and tepedeleni). In addition, these authors revalidated another species, C. superciliosa (GÜNTHER 1863) with 2 subspecies, C. s. superciliosa and C. s. crombiei from Ngeaur Island in the Belau Archipelago. 
EtymologyNamed after John Paulson, a Swedish herpetologist from Gothenburg.
