Type locality: High Camp Memorial Hut on Mt Anne Trail, upper slopes of Mt Eliza, 970 m, Tasmania (42°58’S 146°24’E)

TypesHolotype: DNMNH (= TM) C685 (MN Hutchinson & TD Schwaner, 31.i.1987). 
Diagnosis 
CommentHabitat: Arboreal, Sub-alpine sclerophyll woodland, elevation 1100 m. 
Etymology"The specific name comes from the Greek oros (mountain) and kryptos (hidden), referring to the fact that the species has remained hitherto undetected in its montane habitat" (Hutchinson et al., 1988). (G. Shea, pers. comm., 9 Feb 2024)
