Diagnosis
Comment	Type Species: Leiolopisma greeni Rawlinson 1975 is the type species for the genus Carinascincus WELLS & WELLINGTON 1985: 24. Leiolopisma greeni Rawlinson 1975 is also the type species of the genus Niveoscincus HUTCHINSON et al. 1990. Habitat: Saxicolous, alpine boulder field, elevation 1400-1500 m.
Etymology	From the Latin nivea, snow, and neo-Latin scincus, a skink, alluding to the cold climates inhabited by these skinks.
