Types | Holotype: NMZB 10704, an adult female from. Purchased from a local resident, 8 October 1990. Allotype: NMZB 10722, a small adult male with the same data as the holotype, but purchased on 9 October 1990. |

Comment | Distribution: Presence in Angola questionable fide Marques et al. 2018. Conradie’s specimen may be Causus rhombeatus. |
Etymology | Named after the late Jens Bodker Rasmussen in recognition of his outstanding contributions to our knowledge of African snakes, in particular his last major paper dealing with the genus Causus, published posthumously in 2005. |
