Distribution	Hispaniola (Haiti) Type locality: Ca. 15 km W (by logging roads) Gros Cheval, northeastern slopes of Pic la Selle, 2020 m, Département de l'Ouest, Haiti.

Etymology	Named after Greek, macros, long (large in common usage), and otos, ear, in reference to the large EAM (= external auditory meatus).
