Types	Syntypes: ZFMK 49116, 49117 (erroneously given as ZFMK 53098–100 in 2010 type catalog), NMW 10510: 1-2, formerly NMW 10.598.3 und 10.606.2 (and many additional specimens fide Gemel et al. 2019).
Diagnosis
Comment	Synonymy: Chalcides simonyi was originally classified as Ch. polylepis occidentalis (LANZA 1957) or considered as a synonym of Ch. viridanus (e.g. BOULENGER 1892) but is now considered as a valid species by several authors (BROWN & PERSTANO 1998, BÖHME 2010) based on molecular data (e.g. CARRANZA et al. 2008). Subspecies: Chalcides viridanus coeruleopunctatus SALVADOR 1975 has been elevated to full species status.
