Comment | Type species: Chamaelycus christyi BOULENGER 1919 is the type species of the genus Chamaelycus BOULENGER 1919. Phylogenetics: There seems to be no DNA data for this genus. Pyron et al. 2013 assigned Chamaelycus to Lamprophiidae inc. sedis while Marques et al. 2018 assigned it to Colubridae. |
Etymology | named after the “Ministere des Colonies”, Dr. C. Christy, who provided the types to Boulenger. |
