CommentDistribution: Boella tenella has been (erroneously) reported from Mexico.

Type species: Boa inornata REINHARDT 1843: 253 is the type species of the genus Chilabothrus DUMÉRIL & BIBRON 1844.

Habitat: partly arboreal (Harrington et al. 2018).

Extinct species of the genus Chilabothrus: C. stanolseni (Vanzolini 1952).
