Type locality: Norfolk Is., Lord Howe Is., Champion Bay, NW coast of Australia (the latter presumed to be in error, fide Cogger (1971).

CommentType species: Phyllodactylus guentheri BOULENGER 1885 is the type species of the genus Ridegekko WELLS & WELLINGTON 1985: 15.
