DiagnosisDiagnosis: Cnemaspis boiei differs from its peninsular Indian and Sri Lankan congeners by a combination of the following characters. Maximum SVL 38.8 mm; paired postmentals separated by a medial scale; each postmental bounded by 4 scales; ventrals, 117; dorsal scales homogeneous; spine-like tubercles absent on flank; gular, pectoral and abdominal scales smooth; pectoral and abdominal scales juxtaposed; no femoral or preanal pores in either sex; subcaudals on median row enlarged, subequal; enlarged tubercles absent on base of tail; supralabials to angle of jaws, 6; subdigital lamellae on digit IV of pes, 17.

CommentStatus: This species is only known from its types which have no precise locality data. Its taxonomic status is hence unclear.

Abundance: only known from its original description (Meiri et al. 2017). 
EtymologyNamed after Friedrich Boie (1789-1870) or his brother Heinrich Boie (1794-1827), German naturalists. See Irsch (2008) for short biographies.
