DiagnosisDiagnosis: Cnemaspis phillipsi differs from its peninsular Indian and Sri Lankan congeners by a combination of the following characters. Maximum SVL 36.6 mm; paired postmentals in contact or separated by a medial scale; each postmental bounded by 2 scales including medial scale; ventrals, 129–141; ventral scales across midbody, 18–25; dorsal scales homogeneous; spinelike tubercles present on flank; ventrals smooth; no preanal pores; 15 or 16 femoral pores on each side; subcaudals smooth, median row enlarged, subequal; supralabials to angle of jaws, 8 or 9; subdigital lamellae on digit IV of pes 17–19; no caudal tubercles; (in life) dorsum dusky brown, with about eight narrowly separated rusty-brown blotches; nape with a distinctive broad, long, black marking [MANAMENDRA-ARACHCHI et al. 2007]. 
CommentAbundance: only known from its original description (Meiri et al. 2017).
