Type locality: Farm De Hoek, Nuweveld Mountains, Fraserburg District, South Africa, 32° 09' 31’’, S, 21°43' 17’’ E.  
TypesHolotype: SAM 50893, adult male. Allotype: SAM 50894, adult female. Paratypes; SAM 50895-50896, one adult male and one adult female. 

Abundance: only known from its original description (Meiri et al. 2017). 
EtymologyNamed after Jos Cloete who owns the farm De Hoek, where this species was discovered. It was named after him "in appreciation of his hospitality and keen interest in nature."
