Type locality: mallee-teatree scrub at 11 km SSE of Cocklebiddy, Western Australia, in 32°08' S, 126°08' E.  
Reproductionoviparous (phylogenetic imputation, fide Zimin et al. 2022)

Diagnosis 
CommentLifestyle: burrowing.

Phylogeny: Hugall et al. (2008) found that Rankinia adelaidensis nested inside Ctenophorus. 
EtymologyNamed after Mr Andrew Chapman of the Western Australian Museum in appreciation of his contributions to Western Australian herpetology.
