DistributionAustralia (New South Wales, North Territory, Queensland, South Australia, West Australia)

Type locality: Hermannsburg Mission, Upper Finke River, N. T., designated by Mertens (1967) Map legend:
TDWG region - Region according to the TDWG standard, not a precise distribution map.

NOTE: TDWG regions are generated automatically from the text in the distribution field and not in every cases it works well. We are working on it.

Reproductionoviparous
TypesLectotype: SMF 14410 (leonardii)
Syntypes: ZMLU 281 (2 specimens), from "West Australia" [Lygosoma (Hinulia) taeniolatum maculata]
CommentLygosoma (Hinulia) taeniolatum maculata is a junior primary homonym (non Lygosoma maculatum BLYTH 1853) and therefore not available.

Hybridization: Rabosky et al. (2009) provide evidence that Ctenotus leonhardii and C. quattuordecimlineatus hybridize.
