Diagnosis | Diagnosis: The following four characters of the new species distinguish it from C. loriae, C. louisiadensis and C. novaeguineae (the species with which C. biordinis is most likely to be confused): (1) size smaller, snout-vent length 65-94 mm for six adults (Table 1); (2) dorsal tubercles relatively small, low, and rounded to slightly pointed and less prominent, in 14-16 rows at midbody and 8-10 rows at the axilla (Table 1); (3) 11-14 preanal pores in a broad chevron, separated by a few scales from a double series of femoral pores on each side (Table 1); (4) three dark, transverse bands on dorsum (not 5 or more). The new species differs most markedly from the three other species listed above as well as other known species of the genus in that males of C. biordinis possess two rows of femoral pores.
