Type locality: Khao Chong waterfall, Khao Chamao, Trang Province, Thailand at approximately 07°35.28 N, 99°50.25 E at 165 meters elevation as estimated from Google Earth  
Reproduction 
TypesHolotype: FMNH 215987, adult male, collected on 7 November 1979 by D. L. Damman.
Paratypes.—Adult females (FMNH 215985–86) bear the same data as the holotype. The adult male FMNH 176885 was collected by E. H. Taylor from Khao Chao (date unknown). Adult female IRSNB 2678 collected on 21 July 1998 by O. S. G. Pauwels and Chucheep Chimsunchart from Tham Phung Chang (cave) Phang-nga City, Muang District, Phang-nga Province, Thailand. 
CommentThis species has been considered as C. pulchellus previously. 
EtymologyThe specific epithet lekaguli honors Dr. Boonsong Lekagul (1907–1992), biologist and conservationist of Thailand and the first biologist to suggest the Thai common name " Tuk-Kai " for geckos of the genus Cyrtodactylus (Lekagul 1977).
