Type locality: Kabardino-Balkaria, S Russia, Elbrussky District, vicinity of Terskol Village, 43°15 ́N 42°30 ́E.

EtymologyNamed after the Latin noun “Alpes”, the Alps, or any high, snow-capped mountain, refers the species high altitude distribution.
