Type locality: Chitou, Nantou, Taiwan Province, China, about 1500 m elevation, 23° 42' N, 120° 47' E.  
Reproductionoviparous 
TypesHolotype: OMNH (Osaka) R2565, adult male, collected by H. Ota, 13 Aug 1986. Paratypes: KUZ 7877, 7940, 7975, 8954; AMNH R-130926; NHMUK 1987.2183 = BMNH, MCZ 172743, USNM 281851, eight males; OMNH R2566, KUZ 7857, two females; all having same collection data as holotype. 
Diagnosis 
CommentSynonymy: has been confused with J. swinhonis (e.g. by OTA 1988).
