Type locality: neighbourhood of Teng-yue-chow, Momein, W. Yunnan.

TypesTypes: lost; two females, neighbourhood of (Momien), Teng-yue-chow, most probably lost fide Denzer et al. 2019. 
Diagnosis 
CommentSynonymy: Japalura yunnanensis popei has been synonymized with J. swinhonis by OTA 2000.

Distribution: Records from Vietnam are in error (OTA 2000). Reports from Thailand may actually be D. menghaiense (Liu et al. 2020). 
EtymologyNamed after the type locality.
