Type locality: “Paso del Río, Colima, Mexico.” [= Periquillo, Haciendo Paso del Río, Colima State, Mexico fide Kofron, 1982: 289].

CommentHabitat: fully arboreal (Harrington et al. 2018). 
EtymologyNamed after Helen Beulah Thompson Gaige (1890-1976), American herpetologist at the University of Michigan. See Bell et al. 2021 for biographical data.
