Diagnosis 
CommentSynonymy and distribution after MCGUIRE & ALCALA 2000. Statements that D. ornatus can be found on Luzon and Negros (BOULENGER 1885 and TAYLOR 1922) are almost certainly incorrect (MCGUIRE & ALCALA 2000).

This is one of only 2 Draco species in which females have more colorful patagial coloration than males (i.e. the color of the membranes that covers the elongated ribs). 
EtymologyThe Latin ornata, -us, = decorated" or "ornamented," refers to the ornate coloration.
