Comment	Synonymy partly after COGGER 1983. Venomous! Type species: Hoplocephalus coronoides GÜNTHER 1858: 215 is the type species of the genus Drysdalia WORRELL 1961. Diet: skinks
Etymology	Named after Greek korone (wreath, crown, diadem) + oides (resembling), alluding to the head stripes, which resemble a head-wreath or regal diadem. The genus was named after George Russell Drysdale, Australian artist who accompanied Worrell to Tasmanian islands where he collected the type material. George Russell Drysdale (1912–1981) is considered one of the greatest Australian artists.
