DiagnosisDIAGNOSIS: “A species of Echinanthera similar to E. cyanopleura, and differing from the former by the presence of a lateral nuchal stripe joining dark supracephalic coloration to a lateral stripe of the body, forming a continuous stripe from the sides of the head to the tip of the tail, and by the features of the hemipenis (Fig. 2), which possesses a narrow (instead of wide) middorsal band without ornamentation, and a prolonged and ventrally widespread (instead of short and restrict to the apex) calculate region. A key for the identification of all other species of Echinanthera and a drawing of the hemipenis of E. cyanopleura are presented in Di-Bernardo, 1992.” (Di-Bernardo, 1996)
