Type locality: Colombia, Valle: approx. 13 km west of Dagua, Rio Anchicaya drainage, elevation 820 m.

Comment 
EtymologyNamed after Professor Gustavo Orces (1902-1999), a zoologist and herpetologist who worked at the Polytechnic, Quito and who had a large snake collection that he made available to other researchers (now at the Fundación Herpetológica Gustavo Orces at Museo Ecuatoriano de Ciencias Naturales, Quito.
