Diagnosis | Diagnosis: A member of the Contundo saxatilis complex, confined to the Mt Kaputah region, New South Wales and readily separated from all other members of this complex by its possession of an enlarged pa.ravertebral series. (Wells & Wellington 1985). |
Comment | The original “diagnosis” (no description) mentioned only the possession of enlarged paravertebral scales, a feature present in all members of the genus, hence Shea & Sadlier 1999 questioned the validity of the original description. |
Etymology | Named for Peter Room, collector of the holotype and donor of many specimens to the Australian Museum. |
