Holotype: ZSM 276/1995 (originally CS 95/102/- 112, part.), subadult female, paratypes: ZSM, ZFMK 62437-439 [bischofforum] 
DiagnosisDiagnosis: “Weicht von den oben behandelten Formen insbesondere durch die supralabialen Enden des Parietalbands, die deutlichen gularen Enden des Halsbands und dessen fehlende temporale Spitzen ab. Besonders charakteristisch sind die einfarbigen oder dunkler zentrierten Dorsalia; Kopf- und Halszeichnung verblaßt im Alter kaum. Ventraliazahlen und Subcaudaliazahlen sehr niedrig; hintere Inframaxillaria sehr kurz und bei der Hälfte der Serie in Kontakt” (Schmidtler 1993: 86).

EtymologyNamed after Professor Dr. Ibrahim Baran (b. 1940), Turkish herpetologist, formerly at Dokuz Eylül University, Izmir, Turkey.
E. b. bischofforum was named after Wolfgang Bischoff, German herpetologist, and his wife Ulla Bischoff.
