EtymologyNamed after Professor Dr. Ibrahim Baran (b. 1940), Turkish herpetologist, formerly at Dokuz Eylül University, Izmir, Turkey. E. b. bischofforum was named after Wolfgang Bischoff, German herpetologist, and his wife Ulla Bischoff.
