Type locality: Between Diyarbakır and Siverek, 48 km west of Diyarbakır (37°49′12.3′′N, 39°37′58.5′′E), Sanlıurfa Province, Turkey (Fig. 2 in RAJABIZADEH et al. 2015). Elevation 1100 m a.s.l.

Comment 
EtymologyThe name ‘occidentalis’ (Latin: ‘western’) indicates the westernmost known distribution of the taxon amongst the known species within the subgenus Pseudocyclophis.
