Diagnosis | DIAGNOSIS: Differs from the typical subspecies primarily in color pattern (the generally smaller, more isolated, dark spots on the dorsum; the greater tendency for a series of light spots along the dorsolateral line to break up the regular margin of the dark lateral color; the darker chin and lips, only the mental being light), and the generally slightly lower number of midbody scale rows and slightly higher number of subdigital lamellae (table 4).
