DiagnosisDiagnosis: E. aneityumensis can be distinguished from E. samoensis by its higher number of medio-dorsal scales (40-42) and its lower number of subdigital lamellae (36-42); its coloration is identical to that of E. nigromarginata (but can be distinguished from the former by its larger size at sexual maturity (up to 92 mm SVL) and its increased number of eggs. Total length is about 2.74 times snout-vent length. Prefrontals are in weak contact and separate nasals from frontals. The interparietal is distinct. The 5th or 6th supralabial is the largest and located under the eye [Ineich 2011] 
CommentAbundance: this is one of the species called “lost” and “rediscovered” by Lindken et al. 2024.
