Type locality: Viti Levu Island, ded. M.G. (= Museum Godeffroy).

TypesHolotype: CAS 156256; paratype: ZMH R01978 (formerly no. 749). 
Diagnosis 
CommentAbundance: only known from its original description (Meiri et al. 2017). This is one of the species called 'lost' and 'rediscovered' by Lindken et al. 2024. 
EtymologyNamed after John Campbell, a geologist and consultant to the Monasavu Hydro Electric Scheme in Fiji. He collected the skink holotype.
