mehelyi: Type locality: “Deutsch-Neuguinea”, Friedrich-Wilhelmshafen [= NE part of Papua New Guinea, Madang District]; Type locality: “Stephansort (=Bogadjim), Madang District, Papua New Guinea” fide BROWN 1991.  
TypesNeotype: AMNH 59187, designated by Brown (1991). Original syntypes: QM (lost)
Syntypes: ZMH R04424 (formerly no. 4090), NMW 16649:1-3 (from “Astrolabe Bay”), ZISP 9397 vend. WERNER, Jan. 15, 1915: 1 [mehelyi] 
CommentDistribution: not listed for the Solomon Islands (Bougainville Island) by McCoy 2015 although the species was listed by SMITH 1937. 
EtymologyNamed after Latin “pallidus” = pale or yellow(ish) and “-ceps”, short suffix for “caput” = head.
