Type locality: Huilla Plateau, Mossamedes, Angola.

Diagnosis 
CommentType species: Eumecia anchietae BOCAGE 1870 is the type species of the genus Eumecia BOCAGE 1870.

Limb morphology: Reduced limbs. 
EtymologyNamed after José de Anchieta (9 Oct 1832 -14 Sep 1897), Portugese explorer of Africa.
