Type locality: summit of Auyantepui, [near] ‘‘El Libertador,’’4 2325 m, Estado Bolívar, Venezuela.  
Reproductionoviparous (manual imputation, fide Zimin et al. 2022) 
TypesHolotype: MNHN-RA 1999.4799, an adult male, collected by Renaud Boistel in November or December 1998; no paratype 
Diagnosis 
CommentAbundance: only known from its original description (Meiri et al. 2017). This is one of the species called 'lost' and 'rediscovered' by Lindken et al. 2024. 
EtymologyFrom the tepui Auyán + -ensis (-e), a Latin adjectival suffix indicating origin or place.
