Diagnosis 
CommentA dichotomous key to the five species of the genus Mabuya in Vietnam is provided by Bobrov 1992.

Abundance: only known from the type locality (Meiri et al. 2017). This is one of the species called 'lost' and 'rediscovered' by Lindken et al. 2024. This is one of the species called “lost” and “rediscovered” by Lindken et al. 2024. 
EtymologyNamed after Russian herpetologist Ilya S. Darevsky (18 Dec 1924-8 Aug 2009).
