CommentType species: Fojia bumui GREER & SIMON 1982 is the type species of the genus Fojia GREER & SIMON 1982. 
EtymologyThe generic and specific names are from the lingua franca of the area. Foji is the local name for skinks and bumu is the name of the species, meaning 'stream dwelling.'
