Diagnosis | Diagnosis (genus): A genus of the family Gekkonidae that is easily recognized by the large flat imbricate cycloid (fish-scale) body scales that are shed easily—the cycloid scales and most of the underlying dermis can be autotomized; vertical pupil; digits strongly dilated with transverse undivided subdigital lamellae; all digits with a retractile claw; no preanal or femoral pores in males.
